Miley Cyrus Joins Joan Jett Onstage at Rock Hall

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony took place last night on April 18th. The night featured several legendary performances including Dave Grohl and Miley Cyrus rocking out with Joan Jett and The Blackhearts. Grohl and Cyrus joined Jett onstage as she was inducted into the Rock Hall, and they played several songs from the rocker’s catalog. Some of those songs included “Bad Reputation,” “Cherry Bomb,” and “Crimson and Clover.”

It remained a mystery who was going to induct Jett into the Rock Hall, until it was finally revealed Miley Cyrus would be doing the honors. Even though the news that Cyrus was inducting Jett sent the Internet into a frenzy, it seems the singer proved she was the right choice. “Thank you guys so much. I’m going to start off this induction with the first time I wanted to have sex with Joan Jett. We were doing Oprah together, and I went up to Joan’s hotel room. Joan opens the door, and I come in, and Kenny Laguna is laying in bed,” Cyrus told the audience. Cyrus explained the premise of Oprah Winfrey’s show was new artists getting the chance to perform with their idols. “I wanted to perform with Joan of course. We were in her bathroom, and we were smoking and just talking, and this was one of the moments in my life where I wanted to be as present and absorb everything that she said to me,” Cyrus stated.

The singer described Jett as a “Superwoman,” and she received every bit of advice Jett was giving her. “At first, having to induct Joan Jett in the legendary Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was overwhelming,” Cyrus revealed. She continued,”There was so much that I could say and she just had her life in music that is rare. She’s had a career that’s decades long. She’s been the first of many things and not just as a woman, but just as a badass being on the planet,” the singer said.

Joan Jett has released fourteen studio albums; four as a solo artist and ten as the frontwoman of the Blackhearts. Some of the projects include Notorious, Pure and Simple, Naked, The Hit List, Sinner, and Good Music.
