Migos Arrested During Show at Georgia Southern

Hip hop trio Migos was performing at Georgia Southern University last night, when their performance was interrupted by law enforcement. Police officers instructed the DJ to turn off the music, and when Migos exited the stage, they were met by the authorities. Group members Offset, Quavo, and members from their entourage were arrested and taken into custody, according to TMZ. Offset was arrested for misdemeanor marijuana possession, felony possession of a schedule II narcotic, carrying a loaded gun on school property, and gun possession by a convicted felon. The rapper served ten months in a DeKalb County (Georgia) jail two years ago. Quavo faces the same charges as Offset, except for the felony gun possession.
Last month, a Migos concert in New York ended tragically when six people were stabbed at their show. None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, but a woman also reported she was robbed and attacked while she was inside of the bathroom during the concert. No arrests have been made regarding any of the incidents.

Migos is expected to drop their first studio album, Y.R.N.: The Album, in June. The group’s single “Versace” peaked at Number 99 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 31 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Migos’ follow-up single, “Fight Night,” impacted a few Billboard charts too. It reached Number 6 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, Number 17 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, and Number 69 on the Billboard Hot 100.

“Fight Night” was nominated for Best Club Banger at the BET Hip Hop Awards last year. The trio was nominated for Rookie of the Year, and their mixtape No Label II was up for the Best Mixtape award at the BET ceremony as well. Migos has released several mixtapes including Y.R.N. (Young Rich Ni**as), No Label, and No Label II. The trio has collaborated with some of music’s biggest stars including Justin Bieber, Drake, Meek Mill, R. Kelly, and Young Thug.

Migos was just named to Forbes‘ Hip-Hop Princes 2015 list, although the magazine didn’t reveal their earnings. The list also included producer Mike Will Made It, Kid Ink, Rae Sremmurd, DJ Mustard, Young Thug, Nippsey Hussle, and PARTYNEXTDOOR. The trio recently revealed they will be starting their own clothing line named YRN.

Next month, Migos is scheduled to launch their Young Rich Nation Tour. The 23-date tour in May includes stops in Milwaukee (WI), Oxford (OH), Cleveland (OH), Detroit (MI), New York (NY), Philadelphia (PA), Boston (MA), Dallas (TX), Houston (TX), New Orleans (LA), Los Angeles (CA), Charlotte (NC), Birmingham (AL), Norfolk (VA), Washington (DC), and more cities in North America.
