Mary J. Blige will perform a free concert in front of the Statue of Liberty (Liberty Island) on June 21st. The show will stream live at 9pm (Eastern standard time) exclusively on Tidal, as a part of the company’s Tidal X concerts. Tidal members can enter to win tickets to attend the show on Tidal’s website. This marks the music and video streaming company’s third Tidal X concert; the first two concerts featured J. Cole’s private show and Jay Z’s B-Sides concert. Lil Wayne is also expected to perform a Tidal X show some time this year; the rapper recently joined Tidal as a co-owner.
After her concert in New York, Blige will embark on her London Sessions Tour. The tour will launch on June 26th in Pilton, United Kingdom. The other cities on the 16-date run include stops in Brussells (Belgium), Düsseldorf (Germany), Birmingham (UK), Manchester (UK), London (UK) at Wireless Festival, Frankfurt (Germany), Montreux (Switzerland) at Jazz Festival, Rotterdam (Netherlands) at North Sea Jazz Festival, Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Perth (Australia), Gold Coast (Australia), Sydney (Australia) at Soulfest, Melbourne (Australia) at Soulfest, and the last date of the tour on October 26th in Auckland (New Zealand) at Soulfest.

It features the singles “Therapy,” “Right Now,” “Whole Damn Year,” and “Doubt.” The project reached Number 1 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and it peaked at Number 9 on the Billboard 200. Besides The London Sessions, Blige has dropped twelve studio albums during her iconic career. Some of those albums include What’s the 411?, My Life, Share My World, Mary, No More Drama, Love & Life, The Breakthrough, and Growing Pains. The soul singer has sold over fifty million albums worldwide, which includes her seven-time platinum project The Breakthrough. The album entered the Billboard 200 at Number 1, after selling over 700,000 copies in its debut week. “MJB da MVP,” “Be Without You,” “Enough Cryin’,” “One,” and “Take Me as I Am,” were all dropped as singles from The Breakthrough. “Be Without You” sold over two million copies, and it went to Number 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Hot Dance Club Songs, and Mainstream Top 40 charts. The hit single also reached Number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100.
