YouTube Music Awards Announce 2015 Winners

YouTube has announced its winners for their 2015 music awards event. The YouTube awards went to the recording artists with the most music video views, and subscribers over the last six months. Beyoncé, Drake, Sam Smith, Lady Gaga, Sia, Hozier, Ariana Grande, Brad Paisley, Meghan Trainor, Nicki Minaj, Florida Georgia Line, and Big Sean are some of the winners. These fifty artists have collectively accumulated 47 billion music video views, and more than 164 million subscribers. Unlike the 2013 awards show, this ceremony will not be live.

YouTube will instead work with nine artists to create original music videos, which will be directed by well-known videographers. The nine artists who have been selected include Ed Sheeran, Charli XCX, Migos, Martin Garrix, Megan Nicole, Max Schneider, Cahoots, Shamir, and Nicky Jam. The videos will debut simultaneously at 10am (Pacific time) on March 23rd, and the event will takeover Youtube for the entire day. All of the music videos will be produced by Vice Media. The artists will also choose fans who will be able take part in the filming of their music videos, which includes having behind-the-scenes access.

Beyoncé is one of the winners of YouTube’s Music Awards this year, and perhaps no one noticed her name more than Kid Rock. The rocker was recently interviewed by Rolling Stone magazine, and had some harsh words for the R&B megastar. “Beyoncé, to me, doesn’t have a f***ing Purple Rain, but she’s the biggest thing on Earth,” he told Rolling Stone. Rock continued, “How can you be that big without at least one Sweet Alabama or Old Time Rock & Roll.” Kid Rock also said he wasn’t attracted to Beyoncé because, as he put it, “I like skinny white girls.” It should be noted that Kid Rock has a son from a woman named Kelley South Russell, who is African American.

Beyoncé’s fans, commonly known as the Beyhive, came to the singer’s defense and flooded Kid Rock’s social media accounts with bee emojis. The rocker responded to all of the bee emojis with Raid insect repellent. The faithful Beyhive retaliated with even more bee emojis, and they have continued to flood his Instagram and Twitter comment sections with bees. Some people have even left death threats on Rock’s social media pages, including a message that wished death on his mother’s life, too.

FDRMX Eyes: Phono Emergency Tool is a pop rock band from Italy. They’ve released a music video for “Floating So Fast,” which features footage from the busy streets of New York City.
