Throughout White Hinterland‘s “Ring the Bell” music video singer Casey Dienel wanders through a gorgeously white tundra, complete with frozen waterfall, fluffy snow covered fields, an icey cave and traces of a wintery village surrounded by naked, towering trees. This video continues the band’s stark yet striking images theme. When she’s not meandering through the winter wonderland, Dienel is tossing dry paint off of her bleach white hair, her face and upper body, reminiscent of the dried paint used in color run marathons.
All the while, Dienel is singing powerfully, entreating her listener to ring the bell for her, beckoning you to follow her. The high point is reached when the distorted guitar comes in strong, allowing Dienel to take the backseat as she echoes her chorus line. Triumphant trumpets join in while the beautiful beckoning blonde joyfully dances, the video showing her tresses tossed in reverse. The “Ring the Bell” is off of White Hinterland’s recent album, Baby, released April 1st, 2014 on Dead Oceans.
