Vanessa Paradis created one of the most iconic French songs of all time: “Joe Le Taxi.” You might think you know her for her music and style, but how much do you really know about her? Though Paradis has spent a considerable amount of her life in the spotlight, there are still some things that many people don’t know about her. Number Fifteen: She Performed “Joe le Taxi” When She Was 14. Paradis’ biggest claim to fame is her hit single, “Joe le Taxi.” However, she was just 14 years old when she recorded the song!

Number Fourteen: Acting Is in Her Blood. Paradis has been featured in several films, but she’s not the only one in the family who has the talent. Vanessa’s sister, Alysson Paradis, is an actress as well.

Number Thirteen: Both of Her Parents Were Interior Designers. You might not be surprised to hear that both of Paradis’ parents were interior designers growing up. Maybe that’s where she gets her brilliant sense of style!

Number Twelve: Her Uncle Got Her Foot in the Door. Paradis’ uncle was record producer Didier Pain, and he was the one who helped her get on television. She appeared on a show called L’Ecole des fans and was able to use the show to help develop her singing career.

Number Eleven: She Is a High School Dropout. Paradis dropped out of high school when she was just 16 years old. She dropped out so she could pursue her career in singing and music.

Number Ten: She Has a Long-Standing Relationship With Chanel. Paradis first began working with the Chanel brand in 1991, when she appeared in a commercial for the fragrance Coco for Chanel. The advertisement featured her in a cage and covered in black feathers. Fast forward to 2010, and Paradis is still singing Chanel’s praises. She said, “The more I know them, the more I love Chanel.”

Number Nine: Lenny Kravitz Is Responsible for Her Move to the United States. Paradis moved to the United States in 1992 to work with Lenny Kravitz. She was also dating Kravitz at the time.
