Number Eight: She Was a Mean Teenager
She was one of those rude gossiping girls in high school that you wanted to avoid. She was the leader of her circle of friends and even enacted a system for “voting out” people who went against what she wanted.
Number Seven: Tyra Got Teased
A bit later, however, she was the one getting made fun of. After she had a growth spurt, her classmates began poking fun at her unusual height. In retrospect, she is glad this happened to her because it showed her the importance of being kind of others.
Number Six: She Didn’t Mind Her Parents’ Divorce
Instead of being sad about it or feeling sorry for herself, she saw the bright side of having two separate homes. Her words about it were “Double the presents, double the love.”
Number Five: Sharing Her Success With Others
It’s True. When she was only 19 years old, in 1992, she started a foundation to help young ladies become accepted into her alma mater, the Immaculate Heart School.
Number Four: Tyra Was Called ‘Too Ethnic’
When she was new to the modeling scene, she had trouble getting work because she looked “too ethnic”. This obviously changed, though, starting with her being signed with the largest model agency in the world, Elite Model Management.
Number Three: ‘Kiss My Fat A**!’
There were some tabloids releasing articles criticizing Tyra’s weight and calling her fat. In response to this, she marched out onto stage during her talk show in a bikini and yelled: “Kiss my fat a**!”
Number Two: Tyra Banks Enjoys Sitcoms and Other TV
In addition to being on television, she also enjoys watching it. Some of her favorites include Will & Grace and the Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
Number One: Business Dreams
