Digital music distribution and music publishing service, TuneCore, is launching a game-changing app called DropKloud. DropKloud allows artists to engage with their fans in an innovative new way. Through the new app, fans will be allotted access to a number of features including exclusive access to music, an invite to pop-up showcases, and fans will also be able to view behind-the-scenes photos of their favorite artist. DropKloud will also allow artists to drop content into a system called “Klouds,” which will be available to users in specific physical locations.
Tunecore will be at South By Southwest (SXSW) on March 17th through March 22nd, in order to demo the app’s capabilities. A lineup of musicians with drop exclusive “Klouds” content across Austin all the way to users in New York, Nashville, and Los Angeles. ZZ Ward, Angelique Kidjo, Devon Baldwin, and Oliver the Kid are some of the recording artists who will be distributing exclusive content at SXSW using the DropKloud app. The innovative app can be described as a digital enhancement alternative to traditional street team promotions.
DropKloud is a part of TuneCore’s new Artist Relations initiative, which aims to fill the void many artists experience when releasing a project independently. TuneCore now offers their musicians more opportunities to increase exposure, in an effort to get more people to listen to their music. “TuneCore has always been about getting independent artists’ music in front of the world. This new program takes the core values of TuneCore and expands them into new areas of opportunity,” Chief Creative Officer of TuneCore, Joe Cuello, said in a press release. Cuello continued,”2015 for TuneCore is about more artists, more music, in front of more people in more ways.”
TuneCore also just launched TuneCore Live, which is a monthly concert series that showcases independent recording artists. Through live performances, special events, and artist-to-fan engagement, musicians will be able to build their fan base and their brand. TuneCore’s new program will give musicians the opportunity to be seen by more artists and music industry executives as well. Artists who are interested in joining TuneCore’s new music program can visit the TuneCore website.
