The Top Ten Glee Covers from Season Five

It has been two years since the musical television series, Glee, completed its fifth season. 2013 was a rough year for the Gleeks with the passing of Cory Monteith, the actor who played leading quarterback Finn Hudson. Their year might have been tough, but the glee club’s covers were as amazing as ever! Here are the top ten Glee covers from Season 5:

Number Ten: “Applause” by Lady Gaga. In the episode, A Katy or A Gaga, Sam tried to impress Penny with an edgy performance of “Applause” by Lady Gaga. This cover definitely deserved some A-P-P-L-A-U-S-E.

Number Nine: “Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel. After Sam begins his life as a model, his friends sing “Just the Way You Are” by Billy Joel to convince Sam that he doesn’t need to change to be a great model.

Number Eight: “Colorblind” by Amber Riley. Mercedes has had to deal with racial prejudices all of her life, but she is surprised to realize that she may have been acting a little prejudiced herself. Her moving cover of “Colorblind” shows Sam that she is willing to change for him.

Number Seven: “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles. Dani and Santana’s relationship has been throwing sparks since they first met, and they grow even closer as they sing a sweet duet of “Here Comes the Sun.” The Beatles song is the perfect beginning to their new romance.

Number Six: “Pompeii” by Bastille. We couldn’t leave out the classic ending song! As a group, the old Glee cast members and new Glee club members have come together to conclude the fifth season with “Pompeii” by Bastille.

Number Five: “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin. Mercedes is falling in love with the one man who makes her feel like a natural woman! The song she chooses, “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” by Aretha Franklin, only emphasizes the beauty of her love.

Number Four: “Story of My Life” by One Direction. Kurt and Blaine sing “Story of My Life” together as Kurt prepares for his NYADA audition. With this cover of the One Direction hit, how can he go wrong?

Number Three: “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)” by En Vogue. When Tina and Artie face off for top spot in the Glee club sectionals, they really heat up the music room with their cover of “My Lovin’ (You’re Never Gonna Get It)” by En Vogue.

Number Two: “If I Were A Boy” by Beyoncé. Unique knows she was born a boy, but she doesn’t feel that way. As she sings ““If I Were A Boy” by Beyoncé, she comes to terms with the fact that she may always stand out, and that’s okay.

Number One: “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan. And last, but not least, the final tribute to Finn, sung by his girlfriend, Rachel Berry, will break your heart. In a stellar solo, Rachel sings “Make You Feel My Love” by Bob Dylan.

Now that season 5 is over, season 6 premieres with Mr. Schue having taken over Vocal Adrenaline, and the original New Direction cast having returned to dig the glee club back up from its grave. This year, everyone is in need of a little musical therapy.
