As a female student in high school, it’s natural to want to be part of a school’s cliques. These five cliques in well-known movies are some we’ve always wanted to jump through the screen and join. Some of them may be BFF’s, some of them may rule the school, and some of them may be mean girls. Ladies, let’s meet the five cliques we’ve always wanted to join and see if we’ll find where we truly belong.
Number Five: The Pink Ladies (Grease, 1978). The Pink Ladies of Rydell High – Rizzo, Frenchy, Jan, and Marty – rule the school. They strut down the hallways in their powder-pink jackets, and every student knows who they are. Although Rizzo (the leader of The Pink Ladies) is tough, sarcastic, and somewhat mean, it’s impossible not to fall prey to her understated charm. Not to mention the benefit of getting your hair done for free by Frenchy. You probably wanted to eat Twinkies with Jan and hear all about Marty’s various foreign boyfriends. These ladies truly are pretty in pink.
Number Four: Cher Horowitz, Dionne Davenport, and Tai Frasier (Clueless, 1995). In the beginning, Cher and Dionne are best friends. Eventually, Tai joins the dynamic duo after Cher offers to help her with her lack of fashion sense and social skills. These three high school girls immediately transform into the friend clique that all girls want to be included in. With Cher’s expertise in fashion and boys and Dionne’s outspoken personality, it’s easy to understand why being part of this clique was so coveted. And who can blame you? Together, these three have it all.
Number Three: The Plastics (Mean Girls, 2004). The Plastics consist of Regina George (the leader of The Plastics), Gretchen Wieners, and Karen Smith. Similar to The Pink Ladies, The Plastics rule the school like A-list celebrities. Some of their peers are scared of them, some are in awe of them, and some want to be them. Regardless, The Plastics are known by all. Many high school girls didn’t like this clique and eagerly rooted for the underdog, Cady Heron. However, there are some girls that couldn’t ignore the fact that they wanted to be a part of The Plastics (no matter how mean they may be). Maybe fetch will eventually happen (or not).
Number Two: Lena Kaligaris, Carmen Lowell, Tibby Rollins, and Bridget Vreeland (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, 2005). Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bridget are the ultimate BFF clique. This clique epitomizes eternal friendship. Even though the girls spend their summers apart, they are always together (thanks to a pair of magical jeans and the strong bond they all possess). From Lena’s trip to Greece, to Bridget’s soccer camp, these girls really know how to adventure. This childhood friend group is all a girl could ask for in a friendship. With a group of amazing, powerful, BFFs, and a pair of magical pants, of course, this clique was unstoppable.
Number One: The Bellas (Pitch Perfect/Pitch Perfect 2, 2012/2015). The top clique that we’ve always wanted to join is none other than the beautiful Bellas from Pitch Perfect. Not only are these talented ladies amazing singers, but they’re also the best of friends. Each Bella offers something unique to this clique. At times, The Bellas may disagree with one another, but they will always have each others’ backs no matter what. They will love and defend their girls until it’s time for them to part ways, leaving their microphones behind. No wonder so many girls want to be part of this clique.
