Number Nine: Wayne Rooney
Manchester United’s power striker and current captain earns $23 million a year on endorsement deals only. The British player, who has a history of crashing his vehicles, owns a very elegant Aston Martin Vanquish S. The luxurious automobile costs somewhere around $209,605.
Number Eight: Mesut Özil
The German attacking midfielder is Arsenal’s most notorious star today. His $63 million Arsenal contract and his $35 million Adidas endorsement put him on the list of the world’s highest paid athletes. In fact, the top three best paid German footballers earned more in 2014 than the U.S.’ entire World Cup team! Özil drives a $236,155 black Ferrari 458.
Number Seven: Gareth Bale
Bale broke the world record for the highest paying transfer ever carried out by any football club. Spain’s Real Madrid paid an eye-watering €100.8 million ($109 million) to add the Welsh winger to their team. His $24 million salary a year pales in comparison to Ronaldo’s $73 million, but it’s still enough to purchase an Audi R8 GT, for which he paid $246,000.
Number Six: Owner of One of the Most Expensive Cars – Neymar
The young, talented Brazilian footballer never in his wildest dreams would’ve thought of reaching a $75 million net worth, but here we are. He currently works for FC Barcelona, which pays him 9,5 million a year. Neymar has spent a fortune on cars, mansions and yachts. He often drives the same car as Garth Bale, a $246,000 Audi R8 GT.
