Sports can be a lot of fun, and they can also be a great way to bring people of all different backgrounds together. However, these 10 deadliest sports of all times are maybe not the best way to do it. Here, we present our list of the world’s 10 deadliest sports. Check out part one below, and stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
Number Ten: Street Luging. Street luging is the sport of riding a street luge down a paved road. Because street luging must take place on a – for lack of a better word – street, the “athletes” performing this may run into cars or other obstacles. Street lugers can reach very high speeds, so it is sometimes too late for the lugers to stop or roll off of the street before being squashed by a car.
Number Nine: Base Jumping. Base jumping has become more and more popular over the past few years, and it is especially appealing for thrill seekers. Base jumping involves jumping off of a cliff or high place and then using a wingsuit or parachute to float to safety at the appropriate altitude. However, it gets deadly when people fail to see obstacles on their way down or have faulty wingsuits or parachutes.
Number Eight: Heli-Skiing. Heli-skiing is just skiing, with one little exception. Rather than use a ski lift, skiers and snowboarders are taken to their destination by a helicopter, which promptly drops them onto the snow. The sport can be deadly in uncharted territory with volatile conditions.
Number Seven: Bull Riding. Bull riding is a dangerous sport for obvious reasons. Animals are unpredictable, and bulls are no exception. Bulls are also extremely strong, meaning if you’re thrown onto the ground by the bull, you could be trampled in no time.
Number Six: Motorcycle Racing. Racing of any kind is dangerous, but motorcycle racing is especially dangerous because of the racers’ vulnerability. Even if you’re wearing a helmet, the rest of your body is liable to be flattened by the motorcycle if you lose balance or fall off.
