Thomas Rhett: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Thomas Rhett, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the singer and musician that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: He Was Not Very Focused in College. Rhett promised his mother that he would go to college after high school rather than pursue his music career. Though he began studying kinesiology, he actually changed his major two more times, first to business and then to communications. He eventually realized in college that music was his calling.

Number Seven: He and his Wife Have Rules. Though Rhett has featured women in his music videos, you will never see him having a romantic scene or touching another woman. That is because Rhett and his wife established rules that enable them to trust each other.

Number Six: He Likes Being All Over the Place. In an interview, Rhett admitted that he is part of the “playlist generation,” which is why he thinks genre-bending as an individual artist is so approachable as a practice. He said, “I couldn’t tell you the last time I go tin the car and listened to just one thing for four hours on a road trip. It’s all over the place.”

Number Five: He Listens to Spotify. Rhett has said that he discovers most of the new music he likes while working out in the gym. He reportedly listens to the U.S. Top 50 on Spotify, and then he’ll hit “save” when he finds a song that he likes.

Number Four: He Did Not Actually Ghost Ride in His Video for “Crash and Burn.” In the video, Rhett is featured ghost riding a red car. However, he admitted that the entire thing was rigged. He said, “We were on a bridge, and if I did that myself I would have run that car right off that bridge. There was a guy laying on the floorboard on the other side who was controlling the gas.”

Number Three: His Wife Avoids the Spotlight. Though Rhett’s wife can be seen in his music video for “Die a Happy Man,” she actually shuns the spotlight on most other occasions. The video was shot in Hawaii, where they took their honeymoon.

Number Two: He Has a Diverse Set of Influences. Rhett has said that he is influenced by Frank Sinatra, Adele, and Justin Timberlake.

Number One: He Likes to Golf. Rhett has said that he wants to join a country club so he can golf, and his favorite course to golf on is TPC Boston.
