The Wombats Add More UK Dates to 2015 Tour

The Wombats added more dates in the United Kingdom for their 2015 tour. The new dates were  added during the months of September and October, and the first show will be on the 24th in Stoke-on-Trent at Keele University. The other UK dates will be on September 26th at the Echo Arena in Liverpool; September 27th at UEA in Norwich; September 28th at Rock City in Nottingham; September 30th at Guildham in Southampton; October 1st at Alexandra Palace in London; October 2nd at Cardiff University in Cardiff; and October 21st at Apollo in Manchester.

The Wombats’ latest album entitled Glitterbug was released in April. The project has faired-well on the music charts in the US by reaching Number 5 on the Independent Albums chart. Glitterbug also peaked at Number 13 on the Alternative Albums chart, Number 16 on the Top Rock Albums, and a respective Number 91 spot on the Billboard 200. The album also impacted the charts in Australia, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, and it reached Number 1 on the UK Alternative Albums chart. “Your Body Is a Weapon,” “Greek Tragedy,” “Give Me a Try,” and “Be Your Shadow” have been released as singles from the project. The band’s current single, “Be Your Shadow,” was just dropped last week. The Wombats’ other studio albums include A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation and This Modern Glitch. This Modern Glitch did not chart in the US, but it did enter the charts in several other countries. The album went to Number 2 on the albums chart in Australia, Number 3 in the UK, and it also peaked at Number 5 in Scotland.

On June 6th, the band will travel to Spain for a performance at the Festival De Les Arts in Valencia. The Wombats’ other festival dates in June and July includes a stop in Finland for the Provinssi Festival on June 24th, Budapest Essentials Festival on June 26th in Hungary, Ahmad Tea Music Festival in Moscow (Russia) on June 27th, Godiva Festival in Coventry (United Kingdom) on July 4th, FestivalPark Dour in Belgium on July 15th and 17th, Open Air Festival in Tromso (Norway) on July 18th, Deichbrand Festival in Cuxhaven (Germany) on July 19th, and Splendour in the Grass Festival in Byron Bay (Australia) on July 25th.
