The Game Charged with Assault and Battery

The Game, who’s real name is Jayceon Taylor, has been charged with one felony count of making criminal threats, and one count of misdemeanor assault and battery. The charges stem from an incident back in March when Taylor punched a man during a basketball game. The man who was punched by Taylor was an off-duty police officer, and now the rapper faces up to three years in prison if he’s convicted. Taylor has plead not guilty to the charges. The victim is also suing the rapper, claiming the assault caused him brain damage.

Taylor was recently ordered to pay over $200,000 to a former employee who sued the rapper for defamation and inflicting emotional distress. The former employee, Karen Moore, is a nanny who worked for several celebrity families. In 2013, the rapper published a few statements on social media, which ultimately caused Moore to lose work. One of Taylor’s statements read,”Don’t let anymore children become her victim.” Moore stated that the likelihood she would be able to attain another nanny position was highly unlikely. She also revealed she sought therapy for depression due to the online harassment.

Back in April, VH1 announced The Game would be starring on a reality show entitled She’s Got Game. The series will focus on the rapper’s quest to find love. She’s Got Game will premiere on August 10th on VH1. This marks Game’s second reality show. His other show, Marrying the Game, aired on VH1 for three seasons. The series also starred the rapper’s then-fiancé, Tiffney Cambridge. After eight years of dating, Game and Cambridge ended their relationship.

The Game has dropped nine studio albums, some of which include Untold Story, West Coast Resurrection, The Documentary, Doctor’s Advocate, and The R.E.D. Album. His latest project was called Blood Moon: Year of the Wolf, and it was dropped last year. The rapper is scheduled to release a new album this year, and it is currently titled The Documentary 2. The Game has become one of the biggest rapper’s in hip hop music. He was signed to Dr. Dre’s infamous Aftermath Entertainment, but he left the company after a few years and signed a deal with Geffen Records. As of today, Game is signed to eOne Records. Some of the rapper’s most-known hits include “How We Do,” “My Life,” “Let’s Ride,” and “Hate It or Love It.”
