The Guinness World Records book is full of some very eccentric people. Whether these women were born with unique qualities, or they created their own distinctiveness, either way they are worthy of being recognized.
Number One: Mandy Sellers. Sellers is known for having the biggest feet in the world. She has a rare genetic mutation called Proteus Syndrome, which has caused significant growth in her feet. Sellers’ upper body weighs about 83 lbs, while her legs weigh over 200 lbs.
Number Two: Mikel Ruffinelli. According to the World Record Academy, Ruffinelli has the world’s widest hips in the world. Her hips measure about 8 feet wide, while her small waist is just 3 feet wide. The 5 feet 4 inch (5’4) woman weighs about 420 lbs- the majority of her weight is in her hip area. Ruffinelli appeared on TLC’s documentary entitled World’s Biggest Hips. Her husband, Reggie, also starred in the film.
Number Three: Mushatta Suzanne Jones. Jones is reportedly the oldest woman in the world. She was born on July 6, 1899 and she is 112 years old. She attributes her long life to the fact that she never drank alcohol, never smoked, and she maintained a healthy lifestyle. Besides needing her wheelchair to get around, Jones says she feels great.
Number Four: Julia Gnuse. Gnuse is also known as “The Illustrated Lady” because she is recognized as the world’s most tattooed woman. With over 400 tattoos, 95 percent of her body is covered in ink. A skin disease called porphyria caused her body to blister in the sunlight. Instead of staying indoors, like the doctors suggested, Gnuse decided to cover her body and face with tattoos.
Number Five: Abigail and Brittany Hensel. The Hensel sisters are conjoined twins, meaning their bodies are joined together. They have separate heads, and each twin has her own heart, spine, spinal cord, and stomach. Even though they are conjoined, they have completely different personalities. When they were 16 years old, the Hensel sisters starred in their own reality television series called Abbey & Brittany (aired on TLC). They have since graduated from college, and the twins are now teachers. The twins live very active lives, and they enjoy playing sports such as volleyball.
