Teen Choice Awards Reveal More Nominations

Last month, the Teen Choice Awards revealed their “Wave One” nominees. Some of those nominees included Zayn Malik and his former group One Direction going head-to-head in the Fashion Choice Male Hottie category. Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, and Rihanna are some of the women nominated for Choice Female Artist. “Lay Me Down” (Sam Smith), “Jealous” (Nick Jonas), and “Uptown Funk” (Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars) are a few of the songs nominated in the Choice Song Male Artist category.

The Teen Choice Awards’ “Wave Two” nominees were recently announced. Pop princess Taylor Swift leads all artists with six nominations, and the women from the film Pitch Perfect 2 are also nominated for six awards. Some of the music categories include Choice International Artist: 2NE1, 5 Seconds of Summer, One Direction, Girls Generation, Little Mix, and Super Junior; Choice R&B/Hip-Hop Song: “I Don’t Like It, I Love It (Flo Rida featuring Robin Thicke and Verdine White), “Bitch Better Have My Money” (Rihanna), “FourFiveSeconds” (Rihanna, Kanye West, and Paul McCartney), “Watch Me [Whip/Nae Nae]” (Silento), “Earned It” (The Weeknd), and “See You Again” (Wiz Khalifa);Choice Music Breakout Artist: Andy Grammer, The Weeknd, Meghan Trainor, Rachel Patten, Tove Lo, and Little Mix.

Choice Music- Next Big Thing: Spring King, Neon Jungle, Bea Miller, Skate Maloley, Kalin and Miles, and Clark Beckham; Choice Party Song: “I Want You to Know” (Zedd featuring Selena Gomez), “Shut Up and Dance” (Walk the Moon), “Blank Space” (Taylor Swift), “Uptown Funk” (Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars), “Bitch Better Have My Money” (Rihanna), and “No Control” (One Direction); Choice Break-Up Song: “Lips Are Movin'” (Meghan Trainor), “Bad Blood” (Taylor Swift featuring Kendrick Lamar), “Where Are You Know” (Skrillex & Diplo with Justin Bieber), “Don’t” (Ed Sheeran), and “The Heart Wants What It Wants” (Selena Gomez). The awards show will broadcast live on August 16th at 8pm (Eastern standard time) on the Fox network. The host and artists performing at the event will be announced at a later date. Fans can vote one time per day in each category via social media or on the Teen Choice website. The voting will end on July 24th.
