Taylor Swift Dominates the Artist 100, Again

Taylor Swift continues to dominate the Artist 100 chart, the singer has topped the chart for 27 non-consecutive weeks. The chart is based on album sales, social media interaction, and digital sales. The Artist 100 also uses data from radio airplay and music streaming. Rounding out the Top 5 of the Artist 100 includes A$AP Rocky at Number 2, Maroon 5 at Number 3, The Weeknd at Number 4, and Ed Sheeran at Number 5.

Swift’s “Bad Blood” featuring Kendrick Lamar was the Number 1 song on the Billboard Hot 100, until Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” reclaimed its spot at the top of the charts this week. “See You Again” featuring Charlie Puth spent six weeks at Number 1, until “Bad Blood” knocked it down from its Number 1 position. Now that “See You Again” is back at Number 1, it can add another week to its respective run on the top of the Hot 100 chart. The music video for “Bad Blood” has gained over 139 million views on YouTube, after premiering on the service on May 17th. The video features cameos from Ellie Goulding, GiGi Hadid (model), Zendaya, Selena Gomez, Mariska Hargitay (actress), Jessica Alba (actress), and more. The pop singer’s 1989 album has sold over three million copies in the US, and the Number 1 album sold one million copies in its debut week. “Bad Blood” is the fourth single dropped from the album, and the other singles include “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” and “Style.”

A$AP Rocky‘s Number 2 position on the Artist 100 can be attributed to having the Number 1 album on the Billboard 200 chart. The rapper’s At.Long.Last.A$AP sold over 100,000 copies in its debut week. Rocky “pulled a Beyoncé” and dropped the project as a surprise release, which was scheduled to be out on June 2nd. The album features guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Kanye West, Miguel, Future, Schoolboy Q, M.I.A., Rod Stewart, and more. At.Long.Last.A$AP was executive produced by A$AP Rocky, Juicy J, Danger Mouse, and the late A$AP Yams. Three singles have been dropped from the project including “Lord Pretty Flacko Jodye 2 (LPFJ2),” “Everyday,” and “L$D.”
