Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and Ed Sheeran all received a boost in radio airplay. It is possible their Grammy Awards’ appearances helped gain that boost, and they all have Number 1 songs on the charts this week. Swift’s “Blank Space” is Number 1 on the Adult Contemporary chart, and Beyoncé’s “7/11” is Number 1 on Billboard’s R&B/Hip Hop Airplay chart. Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud” is Number 1 on the Adult Pop Songs chart.
Swift, Beyoncé, and Sheeran are also nominated for a few awards at the 2015 iHeart Music Awards. The recording artists will compete against one another in the Best Fan Army category, in which Beyoncé’s “Bey Hive,” Swift’s “Swifties,” and Sheeran’s “Sheerios” will decide which pop artist has the best fan army. Others artists in this category include One Direction‘s “Directioners” and Chris Brown‘s “Team Breezy.” Swift (“Blank Space”) and Sheeran (“Thinking Out Loud”) will compete in the Best Lyrics category at the iHeart Music Awards too. Taylor Swift and Ed Sheeran were also recently named performers at the BRIT Awards at London’s O2 Arena on February 25th.
Taylor Swift will embark on her 1989 World Tour on May 5th in Tokyo, Japan. A few days ago, it was announced Haim will join Swift on some of her North America tour dates. During her tour, Swift will also travel to Europe and Australia. Swift’s 1989 album has sold four million copies so far, since its release in 2014.
