We already brought you part one of the 15 things you don’t know about Taylor Swift, and now we’re back with part two! Though Swifties are obsessed with learning new things about the pop superstar, and though she’s no stranger to connecting with her fans, there are some facts that many people aren’t aware of. Number Eight: She’s an Award-Winning Poet. When Taylor Swift was just in the fourth grade, she won an award for a poem she wrote titled, “Monster in my Closet.” Little did she know she would grow up to write about monster ex-boyfriends.
Number Seven: She’s Nearly Blind. As of a few years ago, Swift was nearly blind. Though it’s unclear whether she’s had LASIK or wears contacts, she also has a pair of huge glasses that allow her to see clearly.
Number Six: She Was the First SNL Host to Write Her Own Monologue. Her viral monologue on SNL wasn’t written by the writers – it was written by her! She was the first SNL host ever to write her own monologue.
Number Five: She’s a Hanson Fan. Apparently, when Swift was growing up, she had a crush on Taylor Hanson of Hanson. However, she didn’t like him for his looks – she liked him because they shared the same name.
Number Four: No More Google. After her botched Grammy performance in 2010, Swift decided to stop Googling herself. That undoubtedly has kept her sane over the years.
Number Three: She Was an Early Bloomer. Though she continues to write brilliantly catchy songs, the first song Swift ever wrote was at the tender age of 12. The song was titled “Lucky You.”
Number Two: She’s a Nerd. In high school, Swift graduated with an impressive 4.0 GPA. However, this should come as no surprise, considering, as we mentioned in part one, she completed her Junior and Senior years in just 12 months!
Number One: She Gives Back. Swift earns a lot of money, but she also gives a lot of it back. She is hugely involved with many charities, including those supporting the arts, education and health.
