The Sweetlife Festival revealed Calvin Harris, Kendrick Lamar, the Weeknd, Charli XCX, Billy Idol, The Pixies, and Phantogram are some the performers at this year’s event. The festival will take place in Columbia, Maryland on May 30th and the 31st at Merriweather Post Pavilion. Tickets for the festival will be will available tomorrow morning on Ticketfly.
Charli XCX will also participate in the 2015 YouTube music awards event. She is one of nine artists creating music videos, which will premiere simultaneously on YouTube on March 23rd. The other artists who will also create videos include Ed Sheeran, Martin Garrix, Migos, Max Schneider, Cahoots, Shamir, Megan Nicole, and Nicky Jam. The music event will begin at 10am (Pacific time), and it will air the entire day on the music platform. YouTube revealed the fifty winning artists who gained the most music video views and subscribers over the last six months. Some of the winners include Beyonce, Sam Smith, Hozier, Drake, Lady Gaga, and Brad Paisley.
Charli XCX has dropped three studio albums, which include 14 (2008), True Romance (2013), and Sucker (2014). Sucker reached Number 28 on Billboard 200, and Number 15 on the UK Albums chart. The album produced three singles, “Boom Clap,” “Break the Rules,” and “Doing It.” The pop singer had two singles reach the top of the Billboard charts last year, “Boom Clap” and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy,” which Charli XCX was featured on.
Charli XCX is joining Katy Perry‘s Prismatic World Tour this month. The tour began last summer, and it will conclude on May 14th of this year. On March 7th, Perry and Charli XCX will travel to Denmark to perform at the MCH Messencenter Herning. They will also to travel the Netherlands, Latvia, Finland, Norway, and Sweden. Charli XCX will perform her own dates in the United Kingdom, Japan, Australia, and the United States.
On March 24th, the pop singer will perform in Brighton, before she travels to London the following day. Charli’s XCX’s UK dates also include stops in Glasglow, Sheffield, Oxford, Manchester, Nottingham, and Digbeth. The pop singer’s US leg includes a performance at The Governors Ball Music Festival on June 5th through the 7th in New York.
