Slipknot‘s Mickael Thomson (guitarist) was stabbed by his brother a couple of weeks ago, following an altercation that put both brothers in the hospital. Mick Thomson was stabbed in the back of his head, and his brother Andrew Thomson was seriously injured. The specific details of Andrew’s injuries were not made public. While none of the injuries were life-threatening, both brothers have been charged with disorderly conduct by fighting. The Thomson brothers must appear in court on March 30th in Iowa.
Slipknot is heading out on their 2015 tour, which will launch in late April. Before they head out on tour, Slipknot will travel to Fort Myers (FL) for the Fort Rock Festival on April 25th. It has not been revealed if Thompson’s incident will have any affect on the upcoming tour dates. The band will also perform at Welcome to Rockville 2 Day festival on April 26th in Jacksonville (FL). Slipknot’s The Prepare for Hell Tour begins on April 29th in Pensacola, FL. The following day, the metal band has a show in New Orleans (LA), and then they will travel to Birmingham (AL) on May 2nd. Slipknot’s North America dates include performances in Knoxville (TN), Bloomington (IL), Cedar Rapids (IA), Erie (PA), Scranton (PA), Columbus (OH), and more cities in the US.
In July, Slipknot will begin their Summer’s Last Stand Tour on the 24th in West Palm Beach (FL). The summer tour will remain in North America, which includes a date in Toronto, Canada on August 8th. The Summer’s Last Stand Tour wraps in Dallas (TX) on September 5th at the Gexa Energy Pavilion.
Slipknot has released five studio albums including Slipknot, Iowa, Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), All Hope Is Gone, and .5: The Gray Chapter. The band’s All Hope Is Gone project reached the Number 1 position on several charts including the US Billboard 200, Swiss Albums Chart, Swedish Albums Chart, New Zealand Albums Chart, Finnish Albums Chart, European Top 100 Albums, Canadian Albums Chart, and the Australian Albums Chart. Slipknot dropped five singles from All Hope Is Gone, which include “All Hope Is Gone,” “Psychosocial,” “Dead Memories,” “Sulfur,” and “Snuff.” The album was eventually certified platinum in the United States.
