Check out eight more fascinating facts about the co-founder of Google that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!
Number Eight: His Ideals Fit in With Google. Brin has been called an “Enlightenment Man” because of his belief that any amount of knowledge is superior to ignorance. This fits right in with the concept of Google, which allows people to learn about anything just by typing some words into the engine.
Number Seven: He Wore Google Glass on the Subway. In early 2013, Brin was spotted wearing the Google Glass glasses on New York City’s public transit system.
Number Six: He Is Very Charitable. Brin has a charity organization with his ex-wife, and it’s called the Brin Wojcicki Foundation. The foundation has donated millions to various causes, and in 2013 alone, the foundation donated $61.9 million to the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
Number Five: They Are Changing the World With Google.org. Brin helped create Google.org, which is a website dedicated to solving various world problems through connecting people all over the world.
Number Four: He Is an Executive Producer. It’s true! Brin executive produced the 2007 film titled Broken Arrows. The film is a love story and also covers the topics of free will and destiny.
Number Three: You Can Thank Burning Man for Google Doodle. Brin and Page’s very first Google Doodle came to fruition when they attended the Burning Man festival together. Burning Man is notorious for being a haven for open-minded people to use drugs and celebrate life together, and the two created the first Google Doodle while there. The very first Google Doodle was a stick figure standing behind the second “o” in “Google.”
Number Two: He Invests in Space Tourism. In 2008, Brin invested more than $4 million in a company titled Space Adventures. The company is designed to provide space tourism in the future.
Number One: His Salary Is One Dollar. Since Google achieved major success, Brin has agreed to take a salary of just one dollar every year.
