Scarlett Johansson is a name everyone knows, and for good reason. A well known American actress, she has worked hard to earn her famous name. Not too long ago, we brought you part one of this list of facts about the star. Here is the second part.

Number Eight: She Was Rejected by an Art School

She had dreams of attending the Tisch School of the Arts, but they wouldn’t have her. It seems as though this was a blessing in disguise, though, and allowed to her to focus more on her acting career.

Number Seven: Scarlett Johansson Is Half Danish and Half Polish

Her father’s name is Karsten Johansson, and he was born in Denmark. Her mother, Melanie, comes from a New York-based family with Polish roots. Her parents got divorced when she was 13 years old.

Number Six: She Vowed Never to Date an Older Man

After filming Lost in Translation with Bill Murray, she took a vow to never date someone under 30 (that had to hurt Bill’s feelings). However, it didn’t take long for her to begin dating Benicio Del Toro, a man 17 years older than her.

Number Five: Johansson Is a Big Jazz Fan

She’s a big music fan (which may be obvious since she’s also a singer in addition to acting). She enjoys the classics, and among her favorites are Miles Davis and Billie Holiday.

Number Four: She Loves Woody Allen

It must have been a dream come true for her to work with the director in his film Match Point. The actress went on to receive a Golden Globe nomination for her work in the movie.

Number Three: Scarlett Is an Obama Fan

Apparently once she bragged to a website that she was exchanging e-mails with the senator during his run for the presidency. She was left embarrassed, however, when he claimed that this was completely untrue and that she didn’t even have his e-mail address.

Number Two: She Got Denied a Role in ‘The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo’

Apparently Johansson wished for a role in this famous film, adapted from the Swedish original. The reason was that she is “too beautiful”.

Number One: She Celebrates Both Hanukkah and Christmas
