We’re back today with the second part of 15 things you didn’t about Sam Tsui! Check it out below and let us know what you think.
Number Eight: Sam Tsui is of Hong Kong descent. Tsui grew up in a mixture of different cultures. His father is originally from Hong Kong, and his mother is of European extraction and hails from Iowa. The Tsui family values their cultural roots and strives to pass them on. Therefore, Sam has the middle name of “Lee” and even speaks some Cantonese.
Number Seven: He is an independent artist. Despite his massive amount of popularity online, Tsui is and always has been an independent artist since he started. Going this route with his career allows him to be more creative with his music, and gives him a lot more freedom.
Number Six: He almost made it onto Glee. Sam Tsui actually auditioned for Glee back in 2010. If you haven’t watched his audition video, stop and do that now, because it’s amazing. Though Sam (sadly) didn’t get the role, he’s still doing incredible things on his own, and we’re all very proud of him.
Number Five: Kurt Schneider is one of Sam Tsui’s best friends. If you watch Sam Tsui’s youtube channel, you’ll notice that he frequently collaborates with his fellow YouTuber buddy, Kurt Hugo Schneider. Sam has an amazing voice and Kurt has a diverse talent in playing instruments. Together, they are an unstoppable duo.
Number Four: He watches Downton Abbey. Sam Tsui is actually a big Downton Abbey fan. If you don’t believe me, check out his Instagram, and you’ll find that he posts a lot about it from time to time.
Number Three: He dances. I think we both know here that Sam Tsui is meant to be a star. He was in so many high school musicals and really, you gotta watch at least one of them to understand that wow, he can dance. Watch more of his YouTube videos, you will see that he is often surrounded by a group of great dancers, but the thing is, he dances as well as them.
Number Two: Sam Tsui is sold-out internationally. Throughout his career, Sam Tsui has performed in various Asian countries such as Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. One of his largest fan bases is in Asia, so you can imagine just how crazy everyone went. Tsui also aims to perform in Beijing and Shanghai in the near future.
Number One: He’s Going to the Grammy’s. Catch him behind the scenes at the Grammy’s on February 15th with fellow internet stars Connor Franta, Megan Nicole, Diamond White, and Max Schneider.
