Jay-Z‘s Roc Nation and Three Six Group have joined together to form Three Six Zero Entertainment. Three Six Zero is a full-service management company that will represent actors, directors, and writers in the film and television industry. The management company will also offer branding and financial services for its clients too. David Unger and Mark Gillespie have been named co-CEOs of Three Six Zero. “We will now expand to meet the need for international talent in the areas of film and television, Unger said in a statement. “The phenomenal growth and crossover from international territories and ancillary businesses has transformed the way we service our clients globally,” Gillespie said.
Roc Nation‘s CEO and co-founder Jay Brown said Unger and Gillespie have achieved a lot of success in the music industry, and they look forward to watching the two men expand their devices in the film business. Three Six Group (UK and US-based) management company currently represents Calvin Harris, Frank Ocean, deadmau5, The Prodigy, Chris Lake, and other recording artists. “Mark and David and the Three Six Zero family have achieved tremendous success in music and now Three Six Zero Entertainment will expand their potential in film and television,” Brown stated.
Roc Nation’s music management company currently represents a large number of musicians and producers including Kanye West, Big Sean, Rihanna, DJ Mustard, Grimes, HAIM, Kylie Minogue, Fabolous, Timbaland, Meek Mill, and more. Roc Nation Sports continues to build its brand in the sports industry. There are reports Jay-Z is interested in signing New England Patriots wide receiver, Julian Edelman, to his sports agency. The wide receiver reportedly met with the music mogul on Thursday. New England Patriots’ owner, Robert Kraft, was a guest at Jay-Z’s pre-Grammy brunch last Saturday.
Some of Roc Nation’s high-profile professional athletes include Robinson Cano (MLB),
CC Sabathia (MLB), Victor Cruz (NFL), Dez Bryant (NFL), Ndamukong Suh (NFL), Kevin Durant (NFL), Skylar Diggins (WNBA), and boxer Andre Ward. Just recently, Roc Nation Sports and CAA Sports have parted ways. The two companies represent a few of their professional athletes together including Cano, Durant, and Cruz. The athletes will have to decide which company will represent them, now that Roc Nation and CAA Sports have ended their two-year business deal.
