Raglans – White Lightning

Ireland’s indie folk rock band the Raglans have just premiered their new music video for “White Lightning.” This head-scratching stop-motion music video presents itself as a one-take fluid shot. The four man band run amuck in a sort of concrete warehouse full of stage props, cardboard boxes and doors that lead to nowhere. Uniform in black tees and black pants, the four fellas are able to pull off all kinds of magic tricks – with a little help from the stop motion technique. They pop out of boxes that were flat on the floor, they walk through doorways that weren’t there a second ago, they disappear into blankets only to reappear once the blanket is unfolded again. Their shirts change color from black to white and back again in time with the drum hits, and they even have the ability to float a few inches above the floor. Towards the end of the video, it suddenly looks as if the entire thing was shot backwards!
