Perez Hilton: 15 Things You Didn’t Know (Part 2)

We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you probably did not know about Perez Hilton, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more fascinating facts about the blogger and pop culture expert that you definitely (probably) did not know below. You might be surprised by what you find out!

Number Eight: He Was on an Episode of The SopranosIt’s true! Hilton appeared on an episode of the third episode of the third season in 2001. Finally, his acting dreams were fulfilled.

Number Seven: He Was on a Reality Television Show. Hilton appeared on Flab To Fab, which was a reality television show on VH1 that centered around weight loss. Hilton was on the show in 2004.

Number Six: He Wrote a Children’s Book. Is there anything this guy can’t do? Hilton wrote a children’s book called The Boy with Pink Hair, and it was released in early September of 2011. The book centered around the theme that it’s OK to be different.

Number Five: He Helped Mika Hit it Big. Hilton often uses his blog to promote up-and-coming musicians, and in 2007, he was promoting Mika. It is reported that Mika’s success in 2007 is partially attributable to the coverage he received on Hilton’s blog.

Number Four: He Only Started Blogging as a Hobby. Before he created PerezHilton.com, Hilton created PageSixSixSix.com. He had first viewed his blogging as simply a hobby, but after PageSixSixSix.com was named Hollywood’s Most-Hated Website by The Insider, Hilton began taking his “hobby” more seriously.

Number Three: He Only Has One Regret. In 2007, Hilton cited exclusive sources to make the claim that Fidel Castro was dead. He went on to write that he was the first media outlet to report it. However, he wrongly reported it, and later admitted on The Tyra Banks Show that it was his “one regret.”

Number Two: He Has Slowed Down the Gossip. In 2010, Hilton became involved with the It Gets Better Project to support gay teenagers who are being bullied. Hilton later made a statement on YouTube that he would scale down the negative gossip he writes about on PerezHilton.com.

Number One: He Has Two Children. Hilton has one son and one daughter, named Mario Armando Lavandeira III and Mia Alma Lavandeira, respectively. Both of his children were carried by surrogates.
