Onelung (Kevin Tutt) with his music video Far As I on FDRMX.
Official credits:
Animator: Kim Newall.
Featuring eyepopping animated watercolour figures, this video is a unique journey into a surreal world of acrobatic heads and bizarre plant-creatures accompanied by the funky, sample-based, jazz inflected electronica of Onelung.
This is the second video from Onelung’s critically acclaimed fourth album ‘Nu Scientist’ (2003) released on Monkey Records. Kevin Tutt aka Onelung was once in a band called Cicada with Andrew Spraggon, these days better known as Sola Rosa. Like Andrew, Kevin has since dedicated himself to producing and releasing electronic music of an innovative and genre-defying nature. Since Nu Scientist, Onelung has gone on to release two more albums, Binary Pop Songs (2006) on Monkey Records and Dark Carousel (2010) on Punchy Wah Records.
Kim Newall studied Animation for the Visual Communication course at Unitec. Since then he has vj’d for SJD and Onelung as well as at major events such as The Gathering and Alpine and other multimedia events including Soliton. He has also exhibited his paintings and sketchbooks at various galleries around Auckland. Kim is a key member in the multimedia collective Axis of Weevils.
