Omarion is headed to the United Kingdom this month. The R&B singer’s tour begins today in Birmingham, and he has two shows scheduled on March 4th in Nottingham and Leicester. Omarion will also perform in Southampton, Portsmouth, Lausanne, Newmarket, Kingston, Cardiff, Milton Keynes, Coventry, London, and Croydon. Omarion will head back to London on March 16th for the conclusion of his European tour.
Omarion may be most-known for being the lead singer of the R&B group B2K, but he has had a successful solo career as well. After the group disbanded, Omarion released his first solo album in 2005. His O album debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard 200, and it produced three hit singles including “O,” “Touch,” and “I’m Tryna.” The project would eventually reach Gold certification, after selling over 700,000 copies. Omarion’s sophomore album, 21, featured production from The Neptunes, Timbaland, and Bryan Michael Cox. 21 also entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart at Number 1, after selling over 119,000 copies in its first week. Omarion co-wrote all the songs on the project, which was led by the hit singles “Entourage” and “Ice Box.” Omarion has since released two more studio albums, Ollusion in 2010 and Sex Playlist last year. In 2012, the R&B singer signed to Rick Ross‘ Maybach Music Group. Omarion was featured on two of the record label’s compilation albums, which include Self Made Vol. 2 and Self Made Vol. 3.
Rick Ross recently announced Maybach Music’s, Wale, will drop his album on March 31st. The project entitled The Album About Nothing is in reference to the rapper’s obsession with the Seinfeld television series. In 2008, Wale dropped The Mixtape About Nothing, which was also in reference to the television show. The rapper and comedian has actually developed a friendship over the years, and they both appeared on the cover of Complex magazine last year.
During the Complex interview, Jerry Seinfeld revealed that he was not going to be on Wale’s The Album About Nothing. “He asked me to be part of it and talk. It’s his gift, I’m just a bystander,” the comedian said. He added,”I love being around him and watching how he does it because it’s different from what I do. It’s a whole different process.” Wale stated that he gains wisdom from Seinfeld every time they have a conversation. The rapper captured Seinfeld’s wisdom for his new project, and Wale jokingly revealed that the comedian “talks in metaphor a lot.” Ironically, speaking in metaphor is a very common practice used in rap music.
FDRMX Eyes: Seattle-based duo AdraBoo and Action J make up the project Fly Moon Royalty. The band had released a music video entitled “DNA,” which features dancing and black and white effects.
