The Originals is coming back this Fall, with season 3, and its bringing a few new faces along. New Orleans is about to get a little more crowded with a new witch, a few new vampires, and a random detective. I say random because where has law enforcement been in previous seasons. Just saying.
With tensions high and relationships strained, Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Rebekah (Claire Holt), Freya (Riley Voelkel), and Elijah (Daniel Gillies) will have some work to do in order to regain their “family bond.” The lack of a cliff-hanger, at the end of season 2, leaves much to the imagination when it comes to season 3. What we do know is that the first vampires ever turned by the Originals will make their way to New Orleans. Whether they have good intentions has yet to be stated, but I have feeling that they’re not coming to deliver hugs and kisses.
There will be a few new characters introduced in season 3, some with connections to the original family. Here is a round-up of the new faces we will see in October:
Van
Van, played by Lawrence Kao (The Walking Dead), is a attractive, headstrong witch who has kept himself away from the supernatural politics. But things change when a tragedy hits and he finds himself drifting towards the start of a war. His first appearance is in episode 2.
Tristan
Played by Oliver Ackland (The Slap), Tristan is described as a handsome and mysterious vampire who has a complex past with the Originals. He is cultured, charming, and was born wealthy and powerful, which gives him a sense of superiority. He is obsessive, warm, and caring towards those he loves. But he is extremely cruel and ruthless to his enemies. His first appearance is also in episode 2.
Aurora
Rebecca Breeds (Pretty Little Liars) will play Aurora, a gorgeous and sexy vampire with a witty tongue and an “independent woman” vibe. She is a big ball of fun, but she can also be dangerous and violent. She wouldn’t hesitate to kill and is scary seductive. She will appear in the premiere episode of The Originals.
Will Kinney
Jason Dohring (Veronica Mars) will play Detective Will Kinney. He is described as a “good-natured” and “determined” officer who will try to put a stop to the wrongdoings of the supernatural. Will is a “smart and confident” character that can tell the difference between good and bad, and he plans on making New Orleans safe.
Lucien
Lucien, played by Andrew Leeds (Bones), is described as “intelligent, charming, wildly successful, and at ease with princes and paupers alike.” He is also the only confirmed first sire (turned vampire) of the Originals. Which original sibling to have turned him has not been reported.
There are still a ton of questions that have yet to be answered. Will Hayley ever become human again? How will Davina lead her witch coven? How is Josh doing after the murder of his sexy boyfriend Aiden? We will just have to wait until The Originals premieres on Thursday, October 8th on the CW. What are you predictions for seasons 3?
