Muse Tops UK Albums Chart For The Fifth Time

Muse are at the top of the UK Albums chart, after their album Drones sold over 70,000 copies in its first week. This marks the band’s fifth project to reach Number 1 in the UK. Their other chart-toppers include Absolution, Black Holes and Revelations, The Resistance, and The 2nd Law. Drones is also expected to top the Billboard 200 chart, which will be the band’s first Number 1 on the US album chart. It is expected to move over 75,000 units, which should be enough for the top position. The Billboard 200 chart will be unveiled on June 17th. Before Drones was released, Muse frontman Matt Bellamy said the project was the band’s best work to date. The 12-track Drones album features the singles “Dead Inside” and “Mercy.” Some of the other highlights from the album are “Psycho,” “Revolt,” and “Reapers.” Aside from their Number 1 albums, Muse’s other albums include Showbiz and Origin of Symmetry.

Muse is currently on their worldwide tour. Their upcoming tour dates include a date in Moscow, Russia on June 19th; St. Petersburg, Russia on June 21st; Seinajoki, Finland on June 24th; Norrkoping, Sweden on June 26th (Bravalla Festival); Rotselaar, Belgium on June 28th; Cologne, Germany on June 30th; Roskilde, Denmark on July 2nd (Rokilde Festival); Arras, France on July 4th (Main Square Festival); Roeser, Luxembourg on July 5th; Lisbon, Portugal on July 9th (NOS Alive Festival); Bilbao, Spain on July 11th (BBK Live); Aix-les Bains, France on July 13th; Carhaix, France on July 16th; Rome, Italy on July 18th; Naeba, Japan on July 25th (Fuji Rock Festival); Berlin, Germany on September 13th (Lollapalooza); Beijing, China on September 19th; Shanghai, China on September 21st; Singapore on September 26th; Hong Kong on September 28th; Seoul, South Korea on September 30th; Santiago, Chile on October 15th; Buenos Aires, Argentina on October 17th; Córdoba, Argentina on October 19th; Rio de Janiero, Brazil on October 22nd; São Paulo, Brazil on October 24th; Bogota, Colombia on October 27th; and Mexico City, Mexico on November 17th, 18th, and 20th (Palacio de los Deportes). The shows taking place during Palacio de los Deportes on the 17th and 18th are sold out.
