Morrissey is returning to the US for a 18-date tour, which will begin on June 11th in New Orleans (LA) at Saenger Theater. His last US tour was canceled due a respiratory infection; the pop singer apparently contracted in Miami, Florida. Morrissey’s 2015 North America tour will also feature guest appearances by Blondie and Amanda Palmer.
The dates for Morrissey’s tour are as follows: Atlanta (GA) on June 13th; Durham (NC) on June 15th; Dover (DE) on June 19th; Worcestar (MA) on June 24th; New York (NY) on June 27th (Blondie guest appearance); Akron (OH) on June 29th; Cincinnati (OH) on June 30th; Nashville (TN) on July 2nd; Detroit (MI) on July 8th; Chicago (IL) on July 9th; Bloomington (IL) on July 11th; St. Paul (MN) on July 13th; Morrison (CO) on July 16th; Salt Lake City (UT) on July 18th; Seattle (WA) on July 21st; Troutdate (OR) on July 23rd; and San Jose (CA) on July 25th (Amanda Palmer guest appearance).
Morrissey just finished his six-date European tour, which wrapped on March 27th. In May, the pop singer will perform at the Sydney Opera House for the Vivid Live festival. Morrissey is one of the headliners for the eighteen-day festival, for which the singer will perform at for four nights. The Vivid Live festival begins on May 18th; Morrissey will perform on May 26th, 27th, 30th, and the 31st (currently his only dates scheduled in Australia this year).
Morrissey began his career as a member of The Smiths in the 1980s. The band released four studio albums in the United Kingdom including The Smiths, Meat Is Murder, The Queen Is Dead, and Strangeways, Here We Come. The Smiths were hailed as one of the most influential voices of the 1980s. The band had a great number of songs reach the UK’s top twenty, and all of their projects impacted the top five of the music charts. In 1987, The Smiths disbanded due to financial issues regarding music royalties.
Morrissey embarked on his solo career six months after he left The Smiths. The pop singer has dropped ten studio albums, some of which include Viva Hate, Bona Drag, Kill Uncle, You Are the Quarry, Years of Refusal, Southpaw Grammar, and Ringleader of the Tormentors. His latest album, World Peace Is None of Your Business, entered the UK Albums Chart at Number 1.
