Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney, Garth Brooks, Taylor Swift, George Strait, Reba McEntire, and Brooks & Dunn, will all receive a special honor at the ACM (Academy of Country Music) Awards next month. The honorees will receive the Milestone Award, which recognizes the Academy of Country Music’s biggest winners. The ACM Awards will be held on April 19th in Dallas (TX), and it will broadcast live on CBS. Luke Bryan and Blake Shelton will host the ACM Awards show this year.
Miranda Lambert has won the most ACM Awards by a female artist with 18 awards. Kenny Chesney has won four Entertainer of the Year awards, while Garth Brooks has received six Entertainer of the Year honors. Taylor Swift will be recognized as the youngest artist to ever win the Entertainer of the Year award, and Reba McEntire has won seven Female Vocalist of the Year awards. George Strait and Brooks & Dunn will be recognized for receiving the most ACM Awards; Strait has won 21 awards and Brooks & Dunn have taken home 27 trophies.
The performers for the ACM Awards were recently revealed, and Miranda Lambert, George Strait, Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks, and Kenny Chesney were announced as performers this year. The other artists performing on the awards show include Keith Urban, Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Luke Bryan, and Eric Church.
This year, Miranda Lambert leads all nominees with eight ACM nominations. Some of the awards she is nominated for include another Entertainer of the Year award, Album of the Year nomination for Platinum, and “Automatic” is up for Single Record of the Year. Lambert’s “Somethin’ Bad” (with Carrie Underwood) is nominated for Video of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year. Dierks Bentley is a step behind Lambert with seven ACM nominations. Bentley’s nominations include an Album of The Year nomination for Riser, Male Vocalist of the Year, Single Record of the Year and Video of the Year nominations for “Drunk On A Plane.”
Miranda Lambert’s fifth studio album Platinum was released last year. The project reached the top of the Billboard 200, and became the country singer’s first Number 1 album on the Billboard 200. Although it’s her first Billboard 200 chart-topper, Platinum marks Lambert’s fifth consecutive Number 1 on the Country Albums Chart.
