Meek Mill Responds to Drake Diss With New Track

The Drake/Meek Mill beef has gone from the tweets to the beats. In response to Meek Mill’s recent Twitter attacks on Drake and his lyrical authenticity, Drake retaliated with not one, but two diss tracks within the past week. Both tracks, titled “Charged Up” and “Back to Back”, defend against Meek’s claim that the Toronto-born rapper recruited Atlanta rapper, Quentin Miller, to ghost write Drake’s lyrics for Meek’s single, R.I.C.O. (feat. Drake). The back-to-back tracks were, indeed, charged, as Drake went in on Meek, calling the 28-year-old rapper a charity case and even suggesting that he plays the wifey in his relationship to Young Money label-mate, Nicki Minaj. After Drizzy metaphorically dropped the mic, Meek finally picked it up and came back with a diss track of his own titled “Wanna Know”, first heard Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex’s show last Thursday.

In Meek’s latest track, which samples the ominous entrance music of the Undertaker from the WWE, Meek stands behind his allegations of Drake as he raps, “I wanna know, if a n***a ain’t really putting in, but acting like he putting it in/ N****s still letting it fly like it’s cool, I really wanna know man.”

In the following lines he goes on to wonder, “If you ain’t write that running through six shit/ Tell us who the f*** was Quentin running through the six with?” after which, in an attempt to back up his ghostwriting accusation, he uses Drake’s own lyrics against him in a recording of a reference track from Drake’s “Know Yourself”: “Running through the six with my woes/Counting money you know how it goes/All the real live forever baby/And the fake get exposed.” The voice on the reference track is allegedly that of Quentin Miller.

Things proceed to get really personal as Meek threatens Drake’s family saying, “ We the type of n****s to tie your mother up/F*** your sister in the ass and hit your brother up, p***y/You really sweet, I call you buttercup.” Well…Alright then.

Meek doesn’t let up as he continues to call Drake’s boasts “fake” about how “real” his own game is and brag about his “platinum chick”(Nicki Minaj), who, if the rumors are true, has since broken it off with the Philadelphia-born rapper.
