With it’s smooth, funky beats, “Uptown Funk,” stood strong at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 for many weeks. With featured vocals by Bruno Mars, Mark Ronson definitely produced a major hit. The song would be lacking if it did not have it’s cool video; Bruno Mars and his backup singers gives the video that extra something that makes you want to dance along. Their sharp, yet funky dress suits and their smooth dance moves will surely make you put the video on replay. It would be no surprise if their dress style and smooth moves reminded you of the legendary Michael Jackson in his videos “Smooth Criminal” and “You Rock My World,” as he is a major influence to music and has also inspired other work from Mark Ronson. Ronson’s lyrics are interesting and catchy because of its unusual way of rhyming words that don’t rhyme; you will keep listening if not to just wonder what the lyrics are suppose to mean as you dance all the while.
