Number Seven: She Can Sing
The actress co-wrote and performed the song “The Strong Ones” for a French short film she participated in – Cartier’s Love range. She also performed on La Vie en Rose, although most of the audio heard on the soundtrack is the actual Piaf singing.
Number Six: She Plays Several Instruments
During an interview with Nicole Kidman in 2010, Marion told the Australian actress she had to learn how to play different instruments quickly to go on tour with a band she knew. Under a pseudonym, she ended up playing the bass, piano, guitar and drums with her musician friends on stage.
Number Five: Marion Cotillard Is an Introvert
A shy, introverted actress, it mustn’t have been easy for her to handle fame. Marion once told the press she was a really shy, melancholic kid, and she still feels like an outcast. “There is something strange about me. I don’t ever feel at ease in a group of people. I have to fight hard to overcome my fears.”
Number Four: She Almost Died Filming ‘Macbeth’
We might be exaggerating a little bit, but Cotillard definitely had a hard time filming Macbeth on the Isle of Skye. Apparently, she fell into a bog while shooting a scene and got her feet sucked into the mud. The fog was so thick on the island it took a while for the rest of the crew to find her.
Number Three: She Hates Filming Sex Scenes
Probably because of how shy she is, she suffers from crippling anxiety whenever she has to shoot an intimate scene. “I am shaking; I feel very bad and I want to cry most of the time because I hate it so much.”
Number Two: She Is a Locavore
Whenever she stays at her French home in Paris, Marion tries to consume organic, locally-produced products only. So healthy!
