Marilyn Manson is making a guest appearance in an independent film entitled Let Me Make You A Martyr. The rocker will play a hitman named Pope, and Manson recently posted a photo on social media from the movie set. The photo shows Manson in character as he glances at the camera with a dark look in his eyes; his arm is also covered in blood. Let Me Make You A Martyr is about two adopted siblings who fall in love, and devise a plan to murder their abusive father figure, as reported by the Tulsa World. The film also stars Mark Boone Jr. (Sons of Anarchy and Memento) and Sam Quartin (NY84 and Judas’ Chariot). Let Me Make You A Martyr is being filmed in Tulsa (Oklahoma), and it was written by John Swab, who will also co-direct the movie.
Manson has appeared in several television series, which include an appearance on HBO’s Eastbound & Down in 2013 and FX’s Sons of Anarchy last year. Although the rocker may have caught the acting bug, Manson’s foundation will always be his music career. The rocker has released nine studio albums, and one live project. His studio releases include Portrait of an American Family, Antichrist Superstar, Mechanical Animals, Holy Wood (In the Shadow of the Valley of Death), The Golden Age of Grotesque, Eat Me, Drink Me, and his latest project The Pale Emperor.
Mechanical Animals was dropped in 1998, and it impacted the top of three music charts including the US Billboard 200, Canada CANOE, and the Australia ARIA chart. The album sold over one million copies in the US, and it featured the singles “The Dope Show,” “I Don’t Like the Drugs (But the Drugs Like Me),” “Rock Is Dead,” and “Coma White.” Manson’s The Pale Emperor was released earlier this year. The project has produced three singles including “Third Day of a Seven Day Binge,” “Deep Six,” and “Cupid Carries a Gun.” “Deep Six” peaked at Number 8 on the Mainstream Rock charts, and Number 1 on the Germany Alternative Single Chart. To date, The Pale Emperor has peaked at Number 1 on the US Top Hard Rock Albums chart, and it also reached the charts in the UK, Switzerland, Spain, Scotland, Russia, Poland, Japan, Belgium, and Australia.
The rocker is currently on the road for The Hell Not Hallelujah Tour. OnApril 24th, he will travel to Jacksonville (FL) for a performance at the Rockville Fest. The tour will also make stops in Oklahoma, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Illinois, Michigan, Ohio, and several other states in North America. In the summer, Manson will embark on the overseas leg of his tour.
