Macklemore is one of the world’s most popular rappers in this day and age. There’s loads about this person that a lot of people don’t know, and here are some of them. Stay tuned for part 2, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: He Used to Be Something Else

Before Macklemore was a rapper, he had a completely different job. Once, he worked at a youth prison as a security guard, which certainly must have been interesting.

Number Fourteen: He Met His Wife-to-Be Online

Like many people in this modern era, Macklemore met his fiancee online. Specifically, he met her on Myspace. Oh, that brings back memories.

Number Thirteen: He Drives a Prius

Despite his great success, this rapper drives a Prius, which people have seen in drive in. This is probably a good thing, since they’re much better for the environment.

Number Twelve: He Used to Steal From His Job

Besides being a security guard once upon a time, Macklemore also worked at the Seattle Zoo. During this part of his life, he would take money out from the register and used it towards buying himself recording equipment. Stealing is never a good idea, even if it is from the zoo.

Number Eleven: He’s a Supporter of the LGBTQ Community

Macklemore isn’t just a fan of using more efficient cars, he’s also a supporter of love. He was inspired to write his song Same Love from his two gay uncles and godfather.

Number Ten: Macklemore Was a Teen Smoker

When Macklemore was growing up, he smoked. He was only 14 years old when he smoked weed for the first time. While it doesn’t end this way for a lot of people, smoking for him lead to addictions of drugs later in life which he’s battled.

Number Nine: He’s Used Crowdfunding

Crowdfunding is becoming increasingly popular, and it’s something Macklemore used to fund his music video. The song Wings, which the video was based on, wouldn’t have existed without it.
