Pop star Justin Bieber proves he has a sense of humor, too. Following Saturday Night Live‘s parody of Bieber’s Calvin Klein ads, the pop singer responded to the skit on Twitter. Saturday Night Live’s Twitter account sent out a tweet that read, “Justin Bieber for #mycalvins. #SNL.” The tweet also featured a photo of Kate McKinnon, the actress who impersonated the singer on Saturday Night Live. Bieber somehow was made aware of the show’s tweet and he replied, “well played. Lol.”
Bieber’s Calvin Klein ads have been quite a big topic. After the photos for the Calvin Klein advertisements were released, there was a ton of speculation that Bieber’s body was photoshopped. Some people believed the pop star’s biceps, chest, abdomen, and other areas of his body were all “bulked up” to appear much larger than they truly are. There was a company that claimed they had the “real” photos from Bieber’s Calvin Klein photoshoot, before they were allegedly photoshopped.
The company, Breathe Heavy, posted photos of Bieber that were noticeably different than the Calvin Klein photos that were released to the public. The pop singer’s arms, legs, abdomen, and areas below his abdomen, appeared to be a lot thinner. The alleged “real” Bieber photos made its rounds on the Internet, and a lot of people believed the images of the thinner Bieber were authentic. When Bieber’s camp were made aware of the photos, they reportedly threatened to file a lawsuit against the company. Due to the overwhelming pressure, Breathe Heavy removed the alleged “pre-photoshopped” pictures of Bieber.
Regardless of all the photoshop drama, Bieber said he always dreamed of being a Calvin Klein model, “I have been wearing Calvin Klein underwear for years in hopes of getting to model for the brand one day.” The pop singer added, “It’s always been a dream. Last spring, I posted a picture on Instagram in my underwear, using the #mycalvins tag. Thankfully, the brand saw it and liked the reaction it was getting, and a relationship started from there.” Bieber also made sure he mentioned that he had been working out with weights a lot, leading to his Calvin Klein photoshoot.
