iHeartRadio Music Award Show Debuts Tonight

Another day, another music awards show.

At least that’s how it seems these days with so many different awards manifesting them out of nowhere.  With movies you have the SAG’s, the Golden Globes, and the Academy Awards.  With Theater there are the Tonys and the Oliviers.  Television, the Emmys.  Music however is the odd duck that seems at times to have more awards than artists.  Then again, most of the appeal is not to find out who wins but rather to see the incredible lineup of music’s biggest stars.

With that in mind, the first ever iHeartRadio Music awards boasts performances by Pharell, Shakira, Ed Sheeran, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Arcade Fire and many more.  Debuting tonight at 8pm on NBC, the three hour event will take place at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.

Adding a bit of a twist to the proceedings is iHeartRadioMusic awards determining of winners based on votes from Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram.  Every award won is completely dependent upon the social media popularity of the music.

Macklemore, Maroon 5, Imagine Dragons, Justin Timberlake, and Rihanna will each be duking it out for Artist of the Year. Polls are still open so whoever wishes to still participate access the website here and enjoy.
