We already brought you part one of our list of 15 things you didn’t know about Gwen Stefani, and now we’re back with part two! Check out eight more riveting tidbits of information about this judge on The Voice and talented singer below.

Number Eight: She Gets Her Style Inspiration From Her Grandmother. The iconic look of her platinum locks, cat eyes and red lips was actually inspired by Stefani’s grandmother. Her grandmother was the person who encouraged her to try out deep red lipstick, and she’s stuck with it ever since.

Number Seven: She Used to Do Her Own Makeup. Before she got a makeup artist, Stefani would do her own makeup before shows. She lived at home until the age of 25, and she didn’t experience the glamorous lifestyle she can afford now until she was well into her career.

Number Six: Her Assistant Was Hired on a Whim. Stefani hired graphic artist Jolie Clemens on a whim. While developing her Rock Steady album art, she reportedly told Clemens what she wanted, and she liked Clemens’ first mock up so much that she hired her on the spot!

Number Five: The Title of Her New Song Is… “War Paint.” Though it’s unclear if the song will be on her upcoming album, she has said that the song is about facing everything that’s in front of you and realizing who you really are as a person.

Number Four: She Used to Work at Dairy Queen. Before No Doubt exploded into popularity or was even created, Stefani worked at Dairy Queen. Considering her svelte figure, we’re guessing she wasn’t eating much ice cream!

Number Three: She Is Named after a Novel. Her mother named Stefani after a character in the 1968 Arthur Hailey novel, Airplane. The character’s name is Gwen Meighen.

Number Two: She Is the Voice of a Video Game Character. Stefani is the voice of the title character in an Xbox game! The game is called Malice and is designed for Xbox and Playstation 2.

Number One: She Is the Distant Cousin of Madonna. Though this might not come as a surprise, Stefani is a very distant cousin of Madonna. She is related on her father’s side.
