The Foo Fighters will headline Britain’s Glastonbury Festival on June 26th. The band hasn’t performed at Glastonbury since 1998. “We feel incredibly lucky to have confirmed the Foo Fighters for the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury,” Glastonbury’s co-founder, Emily Eavis, said in a statement. She added,”Very few bands have the power to unite and energies a crowd like Foo Fighters do. We can’t wait for them to rock Worthy Farm on Friday night.” This year’s Glastonbury Festival will be held on June 24th through June 26th. Lionel Richie has also been announced as a performer for the festival’s lineup. To date, no other performers have been revealed.

The Foo Fighters are on their Sonic Highways Tour of Australia and New Zealand, for which the band only plays stadiums and arenas. The tour kicked off on February 18th, and it will conclude on March 8th in Perth, Australia. Foo Fighters have seven dates remaining on their tour schedule, including shows in Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne. The band just cancelled a charity concert they added to the tour in Auckland Town Hall yesterday, due to an accident. The truck that was transporting the band’s equipment was involved in an accident.

Foo Fighters’ frontman, David Grohlwas named the ambassador for 2015 Record Store Day, which is on April 18th. Grohl is using his title to encourage people to support local record stores. The rocker said if it wasn’t for record stores, he probably wouldn’t be here today. During a video on the Record Store Day website, Grohl said finding the record Blockbuster 20 Original Hits by The Original Stars is the reason he joined a band. The 1975 album featured Kool and the Gang, Alice Cooper, War, and more. The rocker hopes people will keep the record store alive by going out and purchasing an album or CD. Grohl said just spending a of couple dollars at the record store will make a huge difference.

Record Store Day has enlisted several other musicians to help campaign to save local record stores, including Ozzy Osbourne, Iggy Pop, Jack White, and Public Enemy’s Chuck D. The campaign has proven to be effective, and independent record stores have reported an eleven percent gain in sales last year.
