Maroon 5’s frontman and lead singer Adam Levine is renowned for his stunningly good looks and his winning personality as well as for his incredible voice. He displays a great sense of humor both onstage and in interviews, but nothing could have prepared him for a surprise encounter with a fan during a live performance from the Maroon 5 World Tour 2015 in Anaheim, California.
As Levine was performing the set, a frenzied fan somehow managed to hop onstage with one goal in her starstruck mind; getting as close to Adam Levine as physically possible. With Levine in her sights, she proceeded to rush towards the musician from behind before embracing him and giving Adam Levine a rather serious fright.
Levine took the invasion of his personal space in stride. Although he appeared affronted by the sudden appearance of the fan, he continued performing and embraced the fan as a security guard rushed to remove her from the stage. As she was harried away, Levine waved cheerily all while continuing to perform his song, a true sign of a professional performer.
After his super fan was escorted offstage (and most likely out of the arena with a restraining order in hand), Levine commented on the situation to his remaining fans. “It’s just weird to be, like, in the moment you know,” going on to say, “you have this beautiful moment, and then the next thing you know, someone’s f***ing in your face. It’s super terrifying.”
This electrifying experience hasn’t stopped Levine and Maroon 5 from continuing with the Maroon 5 World Tour 2015. The show is on a short break while Levine finishes up the current season of NBC’s The Voice, where he appears as a mentor and judge, but it will resume with a European leg on May 24th. Maroon 5 also hopped onstage during a recent episode of The Voice, treating fans to a stripped-back rendition of their current single, “Sugar.” The performance lacked a feature from Nicki Minaj, who hopped on a recent remix of the song, as well as an up close and personal interaction with fans.
This is hardly the first time that a fan has found their way onstage. Taylor Swift, Nicki Minaj, Rihanna, Beyoncé, and Britney Spears are just a few other celebrities who have experienced closer than comfortable experiences with fans while performing. One of the most commonly revisited moment of Spears’ 2009 The Circus Starring Britney Spears Tour was when a fan hopped onstage and suddenly appeared in front of the superstar, who was visibly terrified.
