David Guetta changed the electronic music scene in 2009 with his breakthrough album “One Love.” He is now the second highest-paid DJ in the world and has sold over 30 million singles internationally. Here are 15 little-known facts about the French electronic artist. Stay tuned for part two, coming soon!

Number Fifteen: David Guetta’s App

Guetta launched his own iPhone app in 2010, ‘electrobeats’, which allows users to remix his already remixed songs. The app is not available for Android, but lots of copycats were released afterwards.

Number Fourteen: Party on a Plane

Guetta, in collaboration with Spanish airline Vueling, threw a surprise party for all the passengers at 30,000 feet on their way to Ibiza. The flight was recreated again a few years later for their “Fly Me, I’m Famous” campaign.

Number Thirteen: David Guetta Doesn’t Drink

Guetta spends most of his time surrounded by drunk people, but he’s never one of them. The DJ doesn’t drink or smoke, and he doesn’t take any drugs either: “Some people need drink or drugs to open themselves to music but I don’t need anything.”

Number Twelve: Guetta Vs. Lorde

Australian magazine Faster Louder overheard a conversation between Lorde and her manager; when asked whether she would collaborate with Guetta, the New Zealand singer replied “F*ck no, he’s gross.” Guetta was prompt to respond, stating that he never even asked her to.

Number Eleven: He Wants to DJ in Space

He already performed in space; Space Ibiza. But this time, he wants to become the first DJ to perform in actual space. Guetta has been toying with the idea since 2011, but it doesn’t seem like it’s going to happen any time soon.

Number Ten: He’s Obsessed With Shoes

Guetta has a passion for shoes. He has quite an impressive sneaker collection and is often caught in Louboutin Hi-Top Sneakers. He names Steve McQueen as his all-time fashion icon: “He had an effortless style that represented who he was as a man: sexy, cool, understated.”

Number Nine: He Makes His Songs on Planes

Guetta’s favorite place to work on his music is inside planes. According to the DJ, planes are the perfect place to work at because there’s no internet, no phone and no meetings. Luckily for him, he has his very own private jet.

Number Eight:  He Threw Beach Parties as a Kid

Guetta already dreamed of spinning records at eight years old. When he was 14, he would head to the shore, laptop in hand, and throw parties for strangers at the beach. Stay tuned for part two, coming soon!
