We previously learned that Courteney Cox, best known as Friends’ Monica Geller, loves Johnny Depp, used to be horribly short-sighted, and can play some sick beats on drums. Take a look at the remaining seven fun facts about the actress!
Number Seven: She Worked at Bethesda
Bethesda Softworks is an American video game developer and publisher, responsible for the Fallout series. The actress briefly worked there in the ‘80s, before her acting career took off. In 2008, Cox and her then-husband David Arquette hosted Fallout 3’s launch party.
Number Six: ‘Scream’ Producers Didn’t Want to Cast Her
Scream is Courteney Cox’s most noteworthy contribution to her filmography after Friends, but she barely got the role. The producers, who were used to seeing her as charming Monica, didn’t trust she could give a believable “bitchy” performance. She kept trying until they eventually hired her.
Number Five: Courteney Cox Was Really Monica
Apparently, Cox used to have the cleanest dressing room during filming of Friends, and would even clean everyone else’s if they were too messy. Show co-creator Martha Kauffman said that “She was adorable and intelligent and really together. She is Monica.”
Number Four: She Took up Karate
Cox signed up for karate lessons in 2004, after giving birth to her daughter, Coco. She seemed to be doing pretty well—at the time, she was just a test away from getting a black belt!
Number Three: She Directed Kodaline
Courteney Cox is passionate about music and film. She recently merged those two by directing Kodaline’s “Love Will Set You Free”. The video was filmed in Cox’s very own house, and she appears in it, too.
Number Two: She Has a Terrible Memory
Cox insists that she’s not the best at remembering things: “I have the worst memory in the world… I even forget when I don’t like somebody.” Her memory has been put to test on a few game shows and it’s pretty obvious that she wasn’t exaggerating.
Number One: She’d Like to Be a Full-Time Director
Courteney Cox would love to just leave her acting career aside and focus on directing films. Her full-length directing debut was in 2014 with Just Before I Go. “My passion for sure, in my life right now, is directing. I can’t wait to do it again.” We hope you found these facts interesting!
