The NBA announced that Christina Aguilera will open the NBA All-Star Game with a special performance with the Rockettes. The performance will be inspired by New York City, also referred to as the “Mecca of Basketball.” The pop singer and the famed Rockettes’ performance will lead directly into the introductions of the All-Star players. The NBA All-Star Game will be played in Madison Square Garden in New York City on February 15th. The game will tip-off at 8PM (Eastern standard time) on TNT. Last week, pop star Ariana Grande was named the headliner for the All-Star Game’s halftime show.

Christina Aguilera was one of the original coaches on NBC’s The Voice. After a two season hiatus, Aguilera is set to make her return to The Voice for season eight. Meghan Trainor, Ellie Goulding, Nick Jonas, and Lionel Richie are reportedly joining the singing competition show as celebrity mentors. Nick Jonas is expected to mentor for Team Christina Aguilera, Meghan Trainor will be paired with Team Blake Shelton, Ellie Goulding will be paired with Team Adam Levine, and Lionel Richie will be paired with Team Pharrell Williams. Late last year, Aguilera hinted at the possibility she is releasing a new album this year. The album talk started when the pop star sent this message on social media, “New baby. New music. New season of @NBCtheVoice. Bringing #FireAndFun to all, can’t wait for 2015!” Fans started speculating that “Fire and Fun” was going to be the title of her new album. Aguilera has not confirmed she is releasing an album in 2015.

It’s been almost two years since the pop singer released a new single, and almost three years since she released a studio album. In 2013, Aguilera was featured on Pitbull‘s song “Feel This Moment.” The song peaked at Number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, and reached Number 1 on the US Hot Dance Club Songs chart. Aguilera was also featured on the song “Say Something” with pop duo A Great Big World. Christina Aguilera and A Great Big World performed “Say Something” at the American Music Awards, and they also performed the record on The Voice. The hit song is nominated for a Grammy Award at this year’s show for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.
