Busty and the Bass recently debuted the music video for their new song, “Models“. This collective of nine musicians from across North America who met while studying music at McGill University got their start by playing at small house parties around Montreal, in Canada. Over the course of the last three years, Busty has evolved into a tight-knit electro-funk band. Several fellow students have identified the group as one of Canada’s most interesting and colorful new music outfits. In 2014, Busty and the Bass competed against hundreds of other bands to win the “Rock Your Campus” competition, a live music contest involving North America’s top university bands, sponsored by CBC Music. The group won a $10,000 cash prize, which is a much less impressive sum of money once it’s been divided among nine musicians, but still. This is a respectable accomplishment. The group has gained a reputation for giving vibrant and energetic live performances that showcase their musicality, creativity, camaraderie and gusto. Busty is the Bass performs regularly across Canada, and their brand of powerful original music, in addition to enjoyable covers of non-original music, has won them international praise at the university jazz ensemble level. This video features the band playing at a college party, complete with plastic cups and college girls taking selfies.
