Number Eight: AJ McLean Tried Cocaine for the First Time Before Filming a Music Vidoe. Known as the wild one, McLean was beginning to experiment with drugs, and he tried cocaine for the first time before filming the music video for “The Call.”
Number Seven: McLean Also Like to Run Around Naked. At the peak of his partying days, AJ McLean had VIP status at a strip club in Orlando, and he would often go bowling topless with the strippers. He also enjoyed streaking down hotel hallways while the boys were touring.
Number Six: Brian Littrell Was a Father Figure for Nick Carter. Carter was nearly a decade younger than the oldest member, and he was half of a decade younger than Littrell. According to AJ McLean, Carter began to look up to Littrell as almost a parent.
Number Five: They Have a Lot of Crazy Fan Stories. Because the Backstreet Boys had such a cult following, they also have some crazy fan stories. Even though the boys would often leave after their last song before the band even stops playing, some fans became aware of this and would still try and hunt them down. According to Kevin Richardson, one night some fans knocked on his door, but he thought it was his wardrobe assistant. He answered the door wearing just a towel, and he saw five screaming fans.
Number Four: Their First Performance Was Opening for Shamu. In 1993, the Backstreet Boys had their first performance together, which was at SeaWorld. They opened for Shamu to the tune of 3,000 people.
Number Three: Two of the Members Are Cousins! Brian Littrell and Kevin Richardson are cousins.
Number Two: Nick Carter Is Also an Actor. Remember the movie, Edward Scissorhands? Well, Nick Carter plays a kid on a slip and slide in the movie!
Number One: Briain Has Experience Working in Fast Food. He used to work at Long John Silver’s. Oh, how things have changed!
